DUCT in Rwanda
Lewis Anderson, our Sport for All Development Officer, recently took on the challenge of conducting vital community development work in Rwanda as part of an ongoing cultural exchange organised by ‘Scottish Football For Rwanda’.
Over the 10 day trip, Lewis visited several parts of Rwanda, from the capital Kigali to the Western District of Karongi, organising football sessions for kids of all ages and abilities, from Rwanda’s leading Academies to Street Rescue children. The trip also included several Genocide Memorial sites, to put everything into perspective.
Lewis had this to about the experience “It was a really rewarding experience, being able to distribute hundreds of football kits to young Rwandan footballers as well as delivering coaching sessions to children and young people across the Country, the first time many had experienced this. It was also very humbling to learn about the genocide memorials and the difficulties Rwandan people had to experience.”
