New Beechwood Park
New Era at New Beechwood Park
Dundee United Community Trust (DUCT) have reached an agreement with Dryburgh Harp Partnership (DHP) which will see DHP take over the responsibility of operating the facility, effective 4th August 2025.
DUCT has operated the facility since 2022 but reached the decision to find a new operator for the facility after a review of activities in early 2025, in an effort to direct as much of its limited resources to improving the lives of people in Dundee as possible. This move will allow DUCT to focus on growing its community sport, education and wellbeing activities; safe in the knowledge that the facility has a bright future and that the significant investment made by the Trust will not be wasted.
The primary clubs set to benefit from the transition are Dryburgh Athletic Community Club and Lochee Harp Junior Football Club, along with the surrounding community who use the facility regularly for sport and recreation.
Jamie Kirk, Chief Executive commented “New Beechwood Park remains a hugely important space in the local community for grassroots sport, and beyond and while our time operating the site is now over, I’m really pleased to be passing the baton on to DHP. We’ll be watching from the sidelines now with real excitement at what’s next for the facility.”
“This is a major step forward for local football,” added Mike Kelly, representing Dryburgh Harp Community Partnership. “Our goal is to make the park a space that serves both Dryburgh Athletic, Lochee Harp, and the wider community.”
Plans are already underway to improve the site and broaden its community use. This handover represents a powerful example of local collaboration to strengthen the future of grassroots sport in Dundee.
