OUR TRUSTEES

David has been Chair since January 2017, having worked in local government for 43 years, with the last 5 years as Chief Executive of Dundee City Council.

David is currently the Chair of three local charities, including Dundee Bairns which he founded in 2016, and is a Director for the Rank Foundation and Dundee United Football Club.

David was honoured with an MBE for services to children and families in the city in the 2021 New Years Honours List.

Gavin originally joined the Board of Trustees in May 2015 and was elected Vice Chair in 2016.

Gavin has worked in banking for over 35 years, mainly for Lloyds Banking Group but most recently for Morgan Stanley. He has 20 years of experience working in Finance Departments, mainly specialising in Capital and Regulatory Reporting.

Gavin’s key skills are in finance and governance.

Colin joined the Board of Trustees in September 2016 and is retired having worked with Keyline Builders Merchants for over 34 years, latterly in a number of senior management positions including Product Development Director and Regional Director covering Scotland and the North of England.

Since retiring Colin has become involved in a number of local charities focusing on deprivation and social inclusion within the community.

Ian is a graduate of Dundee University who has worked within Project and Change Management at BNP Paribas for the past 10 years. Ian’s roles have varied across Business Analysis, Project Management and currently works as a Change Manager responsible for a programme of activity.

Having grown up in the catchment area close to the club, Ian is aware of challenges faced locally, and of the benefit the Trust can have on the local community and is keen to leverage his skills and experience in pursuit of this goal.

Ian joined the Board of Trustees in January 2020.

Kevin is a city councillor representing the Strathmartine Ward and holds a part time position as a Health & Safety / Procurement Manager for an Arbroath based engineering company.

Kevin is also currently the chair of ArabTrust and is a long standing season ticket holder for Dundee United FC.

Kevin hopes his previous experience in both public and private sectors will be beneficial to the Dundee United Community Trust to help the charity grow and deliver to a much wider cross section of the city's community.

Moira joined the Board of Trustees as a DUFC nominee in November 2018. Moira works in the Club’s Ticket Office but has other roles within the Club, including Disability Access Officer. She is very keen to see the great work that is done by the Trust in the community reach as many local people as possible.

Moira has been at Dundee United FC since April 2014 having previously worked with Bank of Scotland for 15 years, with the last 12 being in Group Audit.

Ruari is a senior sports professional with 21 years experience, including the last 10 years as a Partnership Manager at sportscotland, the national agency for sport in Scotland.

Ruari has experience in developing partnerships with Scottish Governing Bodies of sport, Local Authorities/Leisure Trusts and, a range of third sector agencies. He is currently Chairperson of Perth and Kinross Disability Sport and has a particular passion for developing young people, community engagement, people development, and inclusion.

Ruari is a member of the Dundee United Supporters’ Foundation along with his two children who he regularly attends matches with. He joined the Board of Trustees in July 2024.
