Defibrillator Installed at New Beechwood Park
Following a community consultation last year, we’re delighted to share that our new Community Access Defibrillator has been installed and is now fully operational at New Beechwood Park; with the potential to save the lives of local people experiencing cardiac arrest.
The Unit is located outside the main pedestrian gate of New Beechwood Park, as shown in the image above and is accessible 24/7 to the public. The unit has also been registered on ‘The Circuit’ and will now be available to emergency services to direct members of the public to use it in response to critical cardiac arrest situations.
Jamie Kirk, Chief Executive for the Community Trust, commented: “We know the devastating impact of cardiac arrest and the difference access to a defibrillator can make. This is now the 2nd defibrillator that we’ve worked with partners to install in the City, having previously worked with Dundee United FC and the Coldside Community Empowerment Team to install a unit at Tannadice Park. We’re proud to make a modest contribution in this area.”
We would like to thank the Lochee Community Regeneration Forum, Dundee Partnership, The Scottish Football Partnership Trust, The Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust and St John Scotland for their support in getting this life-saving equipment installed. We would also like to thank the 236 members of the local community who took part in our consultation.
