PARA-FOOTBALL PATHWAY
Ages: 6 years - 15 years & 16+ years
Dundee United Community Trust's Para-Football Pathway provides inclusive football opportunities for children, young people and adults with disabilities, creating a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone can enjoy football, develop their skills and feel part of a team.
Our pathway aims to remove barriers to participation and provide opportunities for players to build confidence, develop friendships and achieve their personal goals. We recognise that everyone has different needs and abilities, with sessions adapted to support individuals to participate and progress at their own pace.
Through our Youth and Adult Para-Football programmes, we aim to create opportunities for participants to BELONG, GROW and SUCCEED, supporting continued participation and progression through football.
YOUTH PARA-FOOTBALL
(AGES 6–15)
Our Youth Para-Football sessions provide children and young people with learning and/or physical disabilities the opportunity to take part in regular football within a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.
Sessions include a mixture of fun football activities, skill development and small-sided games, adapted to suit individual needs and abilities. The programme focuses on building confidence, developing friendships, encouraging teamwork and supporting young people to enjoy football at their own pace.
As part of our Para-Football Pathway, Youth Para-Football also provides opportunities for young people to develop the skills and confidence to progress into our Adult Para-Football programme.
ADULT PARA-FOOTBALL
(AGES 16+)
Our Adult Para-Football sessions provide people aged 16 and over with a disability the opportunity to participate in regular, structured football, regardless of their previous experience or ability.
Sessions combine football coaching activities and matches, focusing on developing skills, fitness, confidence and teamwork. Our coaches adapt activities where appropriate, ensuring participants feel included, supported and able to work towards their personal goals.
As part of our Para-Football Pathway, Adult Para-Football provides a progression opportunity for young people moving on from our youth programme, while also welcoming adults who are new to Dundee United Community Trust.
