Dundee United Community Trust is thrilled to announce we’ve received a grant from the ‘Better Breaks Fund’, which is resourced by the Scottish Government, to support the ongoing delivery of our multi-award winning ‘Para-Sports Club’.  The grant of £28,361 will assist with the costs of delivering our activities for children and young people with a range of disabilities.

Jamie Kirk, Chief Executive of the Community Trust, had this to say: “I’d like to thank the Better Breaks grant team and the Scottish Government for their support.  Our Para-Sports Club is really important to us, and to those who take part every week, and this support has been vital in protecting this activity.  We’re looking forward to encouraging more people in the local community with a disability to get involved in sport.”

Since launching our para programme over 5 years ago, we’ve supported hundreds of individuals with a range of disabilities to take part in sport and physical activity and we’re really proud of what we’ve achieved with the participants, parents and carers over the years.  The fund will support the ongoing delivery of our sessions in Athletics, Boccia and Football, and will allow us to explore new opportunities and activities as we look to grow our Para-Sports Club.
